Live sessions occur in real-time and are pre-scheduled with your client to meet for an audio, video, or chat session at a designated time. You're always welcome to discuss scheduling availability with your client directly in the client room on the platform. Both clients and providers can schedule sessions; the other party must confirm the session before it is fully booked.
All live sessions should be conducted in a quiet and distraction-free environment, just like in-person sessions, to ensure you and the client receive each others' full focus throughout the session.
Live Video
Live video sessions are the most similar to in-person therapy in that you’ll meet face-to-face with your client. These sessions are conducted via video call on the Talkspace platform, instead of being in the same physical location. Your camera and the client's camera should be on through the duration of the session.
Live Audio
Live audio sessions are like having a phone call with your client. You and the client can keep cameras off, but you'll still speak to one another in real time on a call facilitated via the Talkspace platform.
Live Chat
Live chat sessions are instant-messaging sessions with clients. Neither you nor the client will need to have camera or audio enabled. You will send messages to each other in the chat in the client room on the Talkspace platform, replying to messages in real time for the duration of the scheduled session.
Please note that live chat sessions are different from asynchronous messaging sessions. For more information, please see What is the difference between asynchronous messaging and live chat?
