Talkspace has a very robust privacy and security system that adheres to all state, federal and international privacy protocols including HIPAA, HITRUST, CCPA, GDPR and SOC2. Client data is kept only in offsite, USA based, storage servers at high level encryption and neither the company nor the therapist store data outside this encrypted storage system. Talkspace therapists also utilize two-factor authentication to access the Talkspace platform.

All Client data is both transmitted and stored in encrypted form. Talkspace adheres to all medical records retention laws, but also respects privacy precepts to allow clients to request removal from marketing solicitations or further informal communication. Talkspace uses only aggregated and de-identified client data for internal product development or joint research, which is consented to by the client through the Talkspace Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. |

If a Talkspace Supervising Therapist or the Chief Medical Director is helping a client with a particular matter, those issues are addressed using a HIPAA certified "SafeHarbor" version of client data. Talkspace partners with most of the large health plans in the country, as well as Internet, banking, securities, and high-tech companies, which all conduct extensive eligibility, credentialing, insurance, security, and privacy audits on Talkspace as part of the contracting and annual renewal process.
